A message for the government…
A message for the government…
There was a presidential commission established to enquire into the Easter attack. The inspection report was given to the minister in charge of the previous government. A copy was given to the Catholic Church by the minister. However, neither the Catholic Church nor the minister made the report public. The people are only aware of one thing. That is, there are a few chapters missing from the inspection report.
The people were promised by the new government to expedite the investigations about the Easter attack. A fresh round of enquiries has now begun. By April 21, 2025, it will be 6 years since the attack and five of those years were spent under Gotabaya, Ranil-Rajapaksa government.
However, the current administration is unable to squander time in that manner, impede investigations, shield criminals, or circumvent the law. They are not dealing with Easter blood. Their hands have not been tainted with the blood of the victims of the Easter attack.
The people gave such a mandate to the National People's Party government, including President Anura Kumara Comrade, because every ruler who was in power until then has their hands tainted with the blood.
People's perceptions of the new political change, their level of trust in it, and the future of the new government will therefore be influenced by and depend on how well the challenge of securing justice is resolved and how much the truth about all the crimes, murders, and enforced disappearances—including the Easter attack—is revealed to the people.
