Anuradhapura District Meeting
On 27th May 2025, a meeting of victims of violence was held at the Anuradhapura Railway Employees’ Community Hall.
During this event, individuals who were affected during the period from 1987 to 1993 shared eyewitness accounts regarding abductions, detentions, torture and killings carried out by the then government and state-sponsored death squads.
It was decided at the meeting to compile a set of proposals aimed at conducting an investigation into these incidents and presenting it to the president, with the objective of ensuring justice and compensation for those who suffered.
