I thought to myself that these were my last moments – our village, Udupihilla, was surrounded, and youths were kidnapped – while I was tied up, wrapped in a carpet, and driven away in a white van. They led me to a torture site in Matale and untied me. Then I noticed Amarasena, another youth from our village, was also present. Amarasena was completely naked. A metal ring was put around his penis, and two wires were attached to it. He was electrocuted on and off repeatedly. One torturer handed a sword to Amarasena and me a machete, telling us, “You two butcher yourselves.” We managed to avoid each other’s strikes for some time. Laal, Jude and Herath from the army unit were present. Laal decapitated Amarasena right in front of me and told me, “If you are not from J.V.P., prove it by drinking his blood.”
