Over thirty years have passed since the youth Bernadulge Thusitha who had resided in Wanathamulla, Colombo had been abducted during the 88, 89 period. Currently his mother is in quite a helpless state. What she is requesting for is the monthly allowance on behalf of her disappeared children

In the year 1990, Peradeniya police officers together with another group of unknown people had come and abducted the youth Sunil Jayalath using a terrorizer. He has been missing ever since

The court case which is named as Navy Abduction Case, is being heard up to date. In 2007 a group of Navy officers claiming ransom, abducted 11 youths. There was no information about the abducted youths until today

During the 1988–89 civil riot, so many people were abducted and disappeared in Sri Lanka. Among this era, Jayarathne Senanayaka, who lived in Kandy, was a government officer; he disappeared in 1989. 11.20

During 1988-89 a considerable number of youth were disappeared by force. Ajith Lakshman was one among those victims. While he was involved in decorating a nearby church for its feast, he was abducted by an unknown gang through the information provided by some villagers.

"The disappearance case of U.P Wimalanatha"

In 88,89 years, so many incidents happened in Sri Lanka. Especially young and JVP riot. dureing this time, the police department and special army troops were launching a combined operation in the Gampaha Borukgamuwa area. As a result, 11 people were arrested. Among them was U.P. Wimalanatha, who was a father of three children.
