A discussion was held between a group of representatives of the Collective of the Torture Victims 'and JVP General Secretary Comrade Tilvin Silva.
This conversation took place on July 22nd in the party office in Pelawatte. During the abductions and detentions carried out by the security forces between 1987 and 1993,
1) Create an official government register with information about those who have been tortured.
2) Offer fair recompense to the victims.
3) Conduct an inquiry into all of the torture camps that existed at the period, identifying those involved and bringing them to justice.
Discussions were held about the National People's Power government's attention and attempts to implement the three primary demands of torture victims.
