Retired Army Brigadier Shammi Kumararatne, one of the ten intelligence officers of the Sri Lanka Army indicted by the Colombo Special Three-Judge High Court, has been remanded until June 25 in connection with the abduction, murder, and disappearance of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda on January 24, 2010.
The Trincomalee Magistrate's Court today (12) ordered Shammi Kumararatne to be remanded in custody and ordered him to be produced before the Colombo Special Three-Judge Court on the Eknaligoda disappearance case, which is scheduled to be convened on July 10th.
